Krav Maga is the official self defence system used by the Israeli defence forces.
Unlike Martial Arts, Krav Maga is neither a sport nor a competitive fighting system. Instead its focus is on real life situations and hand to hand combat.
Teaches that initial aim should be to completely avoid a violent situation. First and foremost you will be taught to attempt to control and diffuse threats in the shortest possible time. After all you know nothing about the other person and their strengths, capabilities etc. You don’t beat someone physically by paining them into submission on the street, you defeat someone psychologically and physiologically.
Do whatever works in order to protect yourself- use an aggressive and continuous motion during any violent situation and target all vulnerable parts of the body including the groin, eyes and throat.
What do I wear to the first class?
Gym wear will be fine. Jogging pants, leggings, t-shirt.
What should I bring to classes?
Water & a towel.
Do I need to have experience in Krav Maga or Martial Arts?
No. The classes cater for all ability levels and you will be matched with someone of a similar ability for any work in pairs/groups.
Will I need to be fit?
No. the aim is to work with you to increase your fitness levels over time.
