01 / Why it works for women

Leverage beats
size.

A lot of self-defence quietly assumes you're as big and strong as your attacker. Krav Maga assumes the opposite. From the start, it was built around the idea that the defender may be smaller, weaker and caught off guard — so the techniques rely on leverage, targeting vulnerable points, and the element of surprise rather than brute force.

That's why it suits women so well. You'll learn to read a situation early and avoid it, to use distance and your voice, and — if it comes to it — to strike effectively, escape a grab or choke, and create the space to get away. Everything is drilled against realistic scenarios so it holds together when adrenaline hits.

Around a third of our adult students are women, the room is supportive and respectful, and you'll never be pushed past your comfort zone. We also run dedicated women's self-defence sessions throughout the year — get in touch for the next dates.

04 / Common questions

Before you
book.

Is Krav Maga good for women's self-defence?

Yes — it was designed around a smaller, weaker defender, relying on leverage, targeting and surprise rather than strength. That makes it one of the most practical systems for women.

Do I need to be fit or experienced?

No. Most women start as complete beginners. The first class is about learning, and you build at your own pace.

Will I be the only woman there?

No — around a third of our adult students are women, and the room is supportive with no ego. We also run dedicated women's sessions.
